August 12, 2015

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome back to Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic School and a special welcome to our new families! Thank you for choosing O.L.H.C. school for your child/ren. The administration, faculty, and staff look forward to working together with you as we strive to provide an outstanding, faith-based educational experience for your son/daughter.

Here at Our Lady Help of Christians parish school we are fortunate to be able to focus not only on the academic and emotional growth of the children, but also on their spiritual development. We work diligently to keep the best interests of every student in mind. Learning is a serious job for our students, but it also should be enjoyable. Students are expected to strive to meet high academic and behavioral standards and to show respect for faculty, staff, and other students. Each student deserves to be educated in a safe, comfortable environment. Thank you for entrusting your children to our care!

We are blessed to have the spiritual guidance of our pastor, Father John Pendzick and the charitable works and prayers of the Sisters of Christian Charity.   Sister Charlene Verbetich serves as the director of our Pre-School. Mrs. Vita Young is the parish’s Coordinator of Religious Education.

The outcome is best when parents and guardians work in partnership with the school to educate the children. To assist in the accomplishment of our goals, I encourage communication between the home and the school. Please contact me whenever I can be of help throughout the school year. Thank you for all that you do to support our efforts!

May God bless all of us as we work together for the benefit of the children and as we continue the tradition of a faith-based education at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic School.

                                                                                                Blessings,

                                                                                                (Miss) Mary K. Vanya

DATE:  July 10, 2015

It has been a busy summer here at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic School.  Our Summer Celebration (academic summer camp) has been in full swing with a fine participation rate.  The students will be treated to a trip to DeSales University to see one of their spectacular theatre productions.  Special thanks to Computer Aid, Inc. for providing the field trip and also the Summer Celebration program for our students!

Thank you to all who helped make the O.L.H.C. carnival a success by attending or volunteering.  A special thanks to everyone who participated in Rothrock’s “Drive for the Kids” School Fundraiser.  We achieved our goal and that means additional $$$ for our school.  Thank you!  Thank you!  Thank you!

Please spread the good news of what Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic School has to offer – a great education in a Christ-centered atmosphere focused on values and character development.  Due to the extremely generous response of donors who recognize the importance and value of an O.L.H.C. School education, we have wonderful scholarships available.  Refer a new student who registers and credits you with the referral and receive a $50 credit.  Reminder:  If you have not completed your FACTS tuition and financial aid online registrations, please do so as we would like to award the financial aid.  Check FACTS as financial aid has been awarded to all students with successfully completed applications as of June 30th.

Remind your child of the importance of completing summer reading and math work.   The “Swim into Summer” challenge is on!  How many “fish” will we have swimming around the Parish Social Center (cafeteria) in September when the students write the names of all the books they have read over the summer?

Please help your child to remember the importance of God in his/her life during the busy summer months.  Catholic Mass is offered on Saturdays at 4:30 P.M. and Sundays at 8:00, 10:30, and Misa en espanol at 12 Noon.

Blessings and enjoy the summer with family and friends!
